exosmosis
n. 浸出;外渗

浸出;外渗

osmosis \os*mo"sis\ ([o^]z*m[=o]"s[i^]s), n. [NL., fr. Gr.
'wsmo`s, equiv. to 'w^sis impulse, fr. 'wqei^n to push.]
(Chemical Physics)
(a) The tendency in fluids to mix, or become equably
diffused, when in contact. It was first observed between
fluids of differing densities, and as taking place
through a membrane or an intervening porous structure. An
older term for the phenomenon was {Osmose}.

Note: The more rapid flow from the thinner to the thicker
fluid was then called {endosmosis} (formerly
{endosmose}), and the opposite, slower current,
{exosmosis} (formerly {exosmose}). Both are, however,
results of the same force. Osmosis may be regarded as a
form of molecular attraction, allied to that of
adhesion. See also {osmotic pressure}.
(b) The action produced by this tendency.
[1913 Webster]

Exosmosis \Ex`os*mo"sis\, n. [NL. See {Exo-}, and {Osmose}.]
(Physics)
See {Exosmose}.
[1913 Webster]

  • Endosmosis - BYJUS
Exosmosis When a cell is placed in a hypertonic solution, the water moves out of the cell and the cell becomes flaccid This movement of water out of the cell is known as exosmosis This happens because the solute concentration of the surrounding solution is higher than that inside the cytoplasm
  • EXOSMOSIS Definition Meaning | Merriam-Webster Medical
The meaning of EXOSMOSIS is passage of material through a membrane from a region of higher to a region of lower concentration
  • Difference Between Endosmosis and Exosmosis | Definition . . .
The main difference between endosmosis and exosmosis is that endosmosis is the movement of water into the cell whereas exosmosis is the movement of water out of the cell Endosmosis occurs when cells are placed in hypotonic solutions
  • Differences Between Exosmosis and Endosmosis - Vedantu
One of the main differences between endosmosis and exosmosis is that endosmosis is the movement of water into the cell whereas exosmosis is the movement of water out of the cell Endosmosis usually occurs when cells are placed in hypotonic solutions
  • Difference Between Endosmosis and Exosmosis
Exosmosis is the movement of a solvent (usually water) across a semipermeable membrane from inside a cell where there is high solvent, low solute to outside a cell where this is low solvent, high solute
  • Difference Between Endosmosis and Exosmosis - Unacademy
Exosmosis is the diffusion of molecules from a region of low concentration to a region of high concentration, through a semipermeable membrane Endosmosis occurs as a result of the concentration gradient that exists across a semipermeable membrane
  • Endosmosis vs. Exosmosis: What’s the Difference?
Both endosmosis and exosmosis play crucial roles in maintaining cellular balance Endosmosis allows cells to absorb water, vital for cellular processes and maintaining turgidity Exosmosis, on the other hand, enables cells to expel excess water, preventing cellular swelling and potential damage
